When you source selvedge denim fabric, the two most common terms you’ll hear are “Raw Denim” and “Washed Denim.” For buyers, the practical difference is not only about color or hand feel—it’s also about shrinkage, consistency, and how the fabric is finished.

Our red edge / selvedge denim fabric is typically supplied as raw denim that has been through complete finishing—including pre-shrinking (sanforized/ pre-shrunk).
That means: it is raw/unwashed in appearance, but dimensionally more stable than unsanforized loom-state cloth.
